End of Term

Before we say a final goodbye, let's remind ourselves of some activities we did in June.

We ended our last Unit of Inquiry -  'How we express ourselves' with our end of year show about traditions around the world.

We had fun working and learning about traditions and planned the show together.

We enjoyed learning the song - 'Hello To All The Children of the World'.

Fun at the Mini Olympics.

KC and KD had two great days at the Mini Olympics with all our friends from KA and KB.

Each team played well and tried their best at hockey, football and basketball.

Congratulations to everybody for being great stars and many thanks to the Sport department for organizing such a fantastic event.

Guide Dogs' visit

The highlight of our Unit of Inquiry 5 - ' How animals can help humans', was the guide dogs' visit with their owners, Vicente and Daniel.  We were able to ask lots of questions about the guide dogs and learned some important things .

We would like to thank Vicente and Daniel for visiting us at school, it was truly a great experience for all of us.

Transport

Unit of Inquiry 4 was a great success,  creating and discovering new things about different  types of transport.  We worked together in pairs, made decisions, communicated, made choices and created excellent transports. 

We used recycled material, some of us used paper mache, while others used tape to hold boxes together.  We painted and decorated the models and when  we finished we displayed our work in the entrance of the infant school.  We hope you  all saw it and enjoyed it.

We worked on a variety of activities about transport during this unit. Here are some photos showing what we have been doing.

February kept us busy!

Let's look back at our third Unit of Inquiry - 'Where we are in Place and Time,

where we investigated types of homes and materials.

We invited Juan Carlos Herrera, an architect, to come and talk to us about his work.

He explained how to plan and design a house and showed us some of his ideas.

Thank you very much for coming to talk to us it was very interesting.

We constructed different types of houses with blocks and magnets. 

 We designed different types of houses, painted them and then decided what material we would need to build them.  Dizzy's house is  great.

 We had fun drawing houses for the 3 little pigs and presenting them to our friends with our partners.

 

Finally we created beautiful collages made of different types of paper and made a wall display for everybody to see them.  There was a lot of left over paper to be recycled and as we are very responsible we took it to the recycle container outside school.
