Learning about Mexico

We had fun filled days investigating and learning about Mexico.
Our first stop was a visit to the library to look for books on Mexico.
Miss Marie read us a lovely story called 'The Three Little Tamales'.
You can visit the library and borrow the book to read at home.

We made Pyramids together with wooden blocks.

Nicté, who is Dimitris's friend from Mexico, came to 2D and showed us how to make 'Tortillas'.

We helped her to make the tortillas and we all tasted them.
They were delicious!!

Rocío,  Manuel's auntie who has lived in Mexico, visited 2C and talked about Mexican food, customs, animals and musical instruments.

Many thanks to Nicté and Rocío for coming to school to help us learn more about Mexico.

Our Mexican displays

Finally 2C and 2D would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A Special Visitor

We had a pleasant surprise when Miss Jo came to see us in class.  She now lives and works in a school in Germany and she told us lots of interesting things about the country.

When she returned, we Skyped Miss Jo and asked her about the weather in Germany. She told us it was very cold and windy and she has to wear a big warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

We also skyped Max and Frankie who went to England for a few days.  Max told us that the weather in England was very, very cold.

Getting Dressed!

Back in school in November, we started a new Unit of Inquiry all about 'Getting Dressed'.
A group of students from the secondary school came to talk about their favourite activities and what they wear.  We enjoyed listening to and asking Danny, Inga, Jesús, Henry and Elena questions.

Thank you all for coming!!

Farm Visit

Towards the end of October we had a great day out at the farm.  Frankie and Cookie enjoyed meeting different animals.

We learnt and discovered new things about plants.

Some of us showed Cookie how to plant seeds.

Others were big 'risk-takers
and were not afraid to go on the zip line.

Welcome!

Welcome to our new class blog . We hope you will follow us on our journey in the
 4 year-old class.
Let's look back at some of the interesting and fun activities we have been doing
during the first term.
We started the school year with our first 'Pyp Unit of Inquiry - 'Who we Are.'

We painted  beautiful Pop Art pictures of ourselves,

Talked about things we like and dislike, worked and played together in our groups

and enjoyed looking at books with our friends.
