South Africa comes to school.

December was a very busy month learning and discovering things about South Africa.

We worked together and made a beautiful tribal village to display in the South African National Days celebrated at our school.

Some children brought in pictures and objects from South Africa to show to their friends.

We made contact with Max's cousins in South Africa and they told us all about their school, hobbies, sports and favourite food. Many thanks to Max's mum for arranging it.

Also, we made beautiful paintings to decorate our end of term folders.
We hope you enjoyed looking through all the work we have done during this term.

Well done to all of you, enjoy the  holidays and I will see you all back fit and healthy in 2017.
Happy New Year !!

Learning about Living Things on the Farm

We had fun discovering all the different living things on the farm.
Our favourite animal was the donkey and we all took turns to have a ride.

We made soap and experimented with different plants to see which smell we liked best

The rosemary and lavender had a nice smell.

Some of us were very good at making biscuits and we hope you all enjoyed them.

The day after we listened to each other talking about the visit and we drew great pictures of all the different living things we saw on the farm.

We hope you liked our spoons, we had lots of fun making them.

We even made a haunted house with blocks and decorated it with little ghosts.

Frankie, Dizzy, Spot, Tex and Cookie's global challenge.

Who would like to teach our friends something interesting about different locations in the world?  We have a folder which you can take home, if you wish, to draw or stick pictures about your discoveries and bring it to school to share with your friends.

Let's see who will be a 'rish-taker' and start the challenge. Our puppets are looking forward to going home with you and investigating your location with your family's help.
Remember you can visit our school library where there are lots of books to look at.

Who we Are

We have started our first PYP Unit of Inquiry about ' Who we are'. We are learning  about each other and how to be responsible in school and at home.

Here are a few photos to show what we have been doing.

Being creative .......

Playing together ......

Sharing things we like and discovering interesting information....

Working together in our new groups......

We would like to see some photos of how boys and girls are responsible at home;
helping to tidy up, laying the table, brushing their teeth, making their beds, and so on.
Please take some photos over the next few days and bring them to school.

End of Term!

We finished our last Unit of Inquiry  'Let's Celebrate,' with Frankie's Birthday Party.
2C organized a Wild Animal themed party and invited 2D to the party.
We had worked very hard planning, organizing, sharing ideas and being very creative.
Look at our colourful invitations!

The party was a great success.  We played games, sang our favourite animal song, danced and wore our masks.

We talked about our favourite animal books, toys,

and the tiger shoes.

Frankie shared his birthday cake with all of us.

Miss Helen would like to thank all parents for collaborating during this school year.
Hope you are all having a fantastic Summer holiday and remember,  if you are at the beach, 'Be safe in the Sun.'

Check in again soon. I'm going to set a challenge for you all before you start in 3C and 3D.
